Summer Wind 03:54
The summer wind came blowin' in From across the sea It lingered there to touch your hair And walk with me All summer long, we sang a song And then we strolled that golden sand Two sweethearts And the summer wind Like painted kites Those days and nights they went flyin' by The world was new Beneath a blue umbrella sky Then softer than a piper man One day it called to you I lost you, I lost you To the summer wind The autumn wind and the winter winds They have come and gone And still the days, those lonely days They go on and on And guess who sighs his lullabies Through nights that never end My fickle friend, the summer wind The summer wind, the summer wind Music: Heinz Meier (“Der Sommerwind“ 1965) Lyrics: Hans Bradtke (German Lyrics) Lyrics: Johnny Mercer (re-wrote in English)Arrangement & recording: Ralph Maten

You must remember this A kiss is still a kiss, A sigh is just a sigh The fundamental things apply As time goes by And when two lovers woo They still say, I love you On that you can rely No matter what the future brings As time goes by Moonlight and love songs Never out of date Hearts full of passion, Jealousy and hate Woman needs man And man must have his mate That no one can deny It's still the same old story A fight for love and glory A case of do or die The world will always welcome lovers As time goes by (Instrumental) Moonlight and love songs Never out of date Hearts full of passion, Jealousy and hate Woman needs man And man must have his mate That no one can deny It's still the same old story A fight for love and glory A case of do or die The world will always welcome lovers As time goes by Music & Lyrics: Herman Hupfeld (1931)Arrangement & recording: Ralph Maten

( whistle ) We lived our little drama We kissed in a field of white And stars fell on Alabama Last night I can't forget the glamor Your eyes held a tender light While stars fell on Alabama Last night I never planned in my imagination A situation so heavenly A fairy land where no one else could enter And in the center just you and me My heart beat like a hammer My arms wound around you tight And stars fell on Alabama Last night ( whistle ) I never planned in my imagination A situation so heavenly A fairy land where no one else could enter And in the center just you and me, dear My heart beat like a hammer My arms wound around you tight While stars fell on Alabama Last night Music: Frank Perkins (1934) Lyrics: Mitchell ParishArrangement & recording: Ralph Maten

She gets too hungry for dinner at eight She likes the theatre and never comes late She never bothers with people she hates That's why the lady is a tramp Doens't like crapgames with barons or earls Won't go to Harlem in ermine and pearls Won't dish the dirt with the rest of the girls That's why the lady is a tramp She likes the free fresh wind in her hair, life without care She's broke and it's oke Hates California it's cold and it's damp That's why the lady is a tramp She gets too hungry to wait for dinner at eight She loves the theatre, but never comes late She'd never bother with people she'd hate That's why the lady is a tramp She'll have no crapgames with sharpies and frogs And she won't go to Harlem In Lincolns or Fords And she won't dish the dirt with the rest of the broads That's why the lady is a tramp She loves the free fresh wind in her hair Life without care. She's broke, but it's oke Hates California, it's so cold and so damp That's why the lady. that's why the lady That's why the lady is a tramp Music & Lyrics: Richard Rodgers & Lorenz Hart (1937)Arrangement & recording: Ralph Maten

Now you say you're lonely Said you cried the whole night through Well, you can cry me a river Cry me a river Cause I cried a river over you Uhhh, and now you say you're sorry For being so untrue So what?! A just cry me a river Cry me a river I cried a river over you You drove me, nearly drove me out off my head While you never shed a tear Remember, I remember all you said Told me love was too plebeian Told me you were through with me And now you say you love me Well, a just prove you do Go on and cry me a river I’d like to see you cry me a river Cause I'm tired of crying over you Music & Lyrics: Arthur Hamilton (1953)Arrangement & recording: Ralph Maten

Somewhere beyond the sea Somewhere waiting for me My lover stands on golden sands And watches the ships that go sailing Somewhere beyond the sea She's there watching for me If I could fly like birds on high Then straight to her arms I'd go sailing It's far beyond a star It's near beyond the moon I know beyond a doubt My heart will lead me there soon We'll meet beyond the shore We'll kiss just like before Happy we'll be beyond the sea And never again I'll go sailing I know beyond a doubt My heart will lead me there soon And we'll meet I know we'll meet beyond the shore We'll meet just as before Happy we'll be beyond the sea And never again I'll go sailing No more sailing So long, sailing Music & Lyrics: Charles Trenet (“La Mer“ 1943) Lyrics: Jack Lawrence (re-wrote in English 1946)Arrangement & recording: Ralph Maten

Close To You 03:57
Why do birds suddenly appear Every time you are near Just like me, they long to be Close to you Why do stars fall down from the sky Every time you walk by Just like me, they long to be Close to you On the day that you were born the angels got together And decided to create a dream come true So they sprinkled moon dust in your hair Of golden starlight in your eyes of blue That is why all the girls in town Follow you, all around Just like me, they long to be Close to you (Instrumental) On the day that you were born the angels got together And decided to create a dream come true So they sprinkled moon dust in your hair Of golden starlight in your eyes of blue That is why all the girls in town Follow you, all around Just like me, they long to be Close to you Music & Lyrics: Burt Bacharach & Hal David (1970) Arrangement & recording: Ralph Maten

about

I still love the Jazz sound of the 50s.
When I was a child my Grandma sang to the Songs of Sinatra, and I loved to listen.
Now I am old but I have this all the time in my ears and in my heart.

I worked for over a year on this album, did everything on my own.
Arranging, singing, playing the instruments, producing, mixing, mastering and all of the artwork.
So please take time to enjoy it!

I promote my music on my label Amp-Media, I make videos and so on and so on - a full time job.
But my passion.
And of course: I love to play and sing live!
